The Orange Corporation

Los Alamos Underground Base, New Mexico

March 15th, 1993

Dr. Emily Aranda and Darren peered through a glass wall. They watched a group of scientists in white lab coats work in a massive laboratory. In the center of the lab, a large saucer loomed, made with shining slate metal, technology unknown to this world: an alien spacecraft.

“Operation Paperclip. Thousands of Nazi scientists and Engineers came to the States to work on stuff like this is what I’ve been told. Did you know that?” Emily asked.

Darren nodded. “How many are left, though? Now it’s their kids who have grown up and run the Deep State and all those companies.”

“I heard a hell of a lot of them started families and formed secret societies,” Emily replied. “They’re zealots that, after decades of careful recruiting and developing their foundations, follow their values no matter what.”

“The Bush family is steeped in Skull and Bones at Yale. A perfect example of a secret society for you,” Darren commented. “They were the power behind the formation of the CIA. Bush was a member of the Skull and Bones too,” he said.

“Sorta sounds farfetched.”

“Sorta sounds like Orange,” he retorted.

Emily narrowed her eyes at him. “Don’t say things like that, Darren. Especially not in here.”

Darren shrugged nonchalantly. “Just sayin’.” He let it rest a beat. “Look, we have a military complex that is so powerful that sometimes I wonder whether their plan isn’t world domination. I mean, aren’t some of the higher-ups of German descent?”

Emily turned on him, her face distorted in anger. If Darren didn’t know any better, he would have thought that there were some traces of concerns in there, too. “What are you doing? You can’t say things like that!” she whispered.

“I’m just—”

“Just what?”

“Just thinking out loud.”

“Well don’t.”

“Don’t think?”

“No! Not aloud anyway. You want to be sent to one of those camps we’ve been hearing about?”

“No, of course not.” Darren shook his head in frustration. “You want your children to inherit the lies and corruption we see here?” Emily tilted her head and squinted. Darren went on, “You know that if the wrong guy gets in the White House, they’ll use those U.N. prisoner transfer cars to take prisoners to those camps through the underground interstate railway lines, which run from Alaska all the way down to Mexico. They go coast to coast. You can start at one coastline and be at the other one in 18 minutes. That’s all it takes.”

They glared straight into each other’s eyes for a moment, neither budging an inch, but there was something in Emily’s eyes, a look that suggested she was still digesting Darren’s last remark. She sighed and ripped her gaze away from him, rubbing her temples. “You’re not wrong. This is all a bit much sometimes. I just don’t know what to do about any of it. I’m a scientist. I’m just a girl who loved archeology and linguistics and went to school and studied. I don’t run intercontinental covert operations or—”

“You don’t do anything. Your
